- IF you have ABS you shouldn’t need to do anything else providing the ABS system is working properly.
- Applications PRE-ABS running Disc/Disc brakes; if you are wanting a better pedal feel, the master cylinder needs to be changed out for a master cylinder made for disc/disc applications.
- We sell these master cylinders here: Brake Boosters
Important Note for Installation
- To verify you are ordering the correct kit, measure your drum backing plate bolt hole spacing center to center on either your spindle/axle housing flange and compare to our spacing diagram.
- Fits 7" Axle flanges without machining the axles. Small bearing, large bearing, and large bearing style 2.
- Most 15 Inch and Larger Disc Brake (not drum) Style Wheels. All three bearing ends.
- Only Fits 5 x 5 1/2" Wheel Lug Pattern.
- With most 35 spline axle shafts, our bracket will need to be placed on the axle before pressing the bearing on.
- Ford axles are not accurate on the back side of the backing plate flange. Our brackets mount to the front accurate side of the axle housing. Ford axles also have at least 3 different lengths. Our brackets are adjustable to cover all axle lengths.
- When converting from drum to disk. You will need to cut and re-flair your existing hard brake line or bend new ones. These are not supplied.
- You may have to get new parking brake cables made to finish the install, if you are using calipers with parking brakes. We sell a universal cable HERE.
Note
- 1966 to 1977 early bronco, might have to move the shock mounts if you are using parking brake calipers
- Our rotors slip over the axle once the axle is installed. The axle flange does not have to be reduced and the access holes in the axles are not covered up making it easy to tighten the axles into the housing.
- Our Kits do not use inferior rotors that install on the back side of the axle. With the inferior rotors, axle and rotor have to be installed together which is much heavier and the access holes for tightening the T-bolts are blocked. The studs are also shortened by the thickness of the rotor and only partial splines go into the axle. The studs might turn when the wheel is removed.
